My beautiful sister made a soundtrack for The Monsters of Templeton--I think it's brilliant. Since I wrote the book I've been thinking about what my own soundtrack would be and have it almost done in my head.
Until I get it down, though, this one is pretty amazing:
My Beloved Monster--The Eels
Our life is not a movie or maybe--Okkervil River
Black Dirt--Sea Wolf
This Town--The Silent Years
The Weight of Lies--Avett Brothers
Darlin' Do Not Fear--Brett Dennen
Is There a Ghost--Band of Horses
Past in Present--Feist
Melody Day--Caribou
Strangers--The Kinks
Family Tree--Belle and Sebastian
White Chalk--PJ Harvey
Misunderstood--Wilco
She has pretty amazing taste in music--I'm going to try to post this as a playlist in iTunes.

Just downloaded all the songs from Amazon, and I've been enjoying them while reading your book. Such an eclectic mix, and it meshes so well with the written word. I love being exposed to new music, especially songs I probably would have never discovered on my own.
Oh... and I love the book. It's all still sinking in right now, because there was a lot to absorb. I think I'll be going back to it again and again to discover things I may have overlooked.
Just like the music.

I posted these songs, together with the songs posted on the Large Hearted Boy blog, up on iTunes as an iMix entitled "Monsters of Templeton Soundtrack."
And you're right -- your sister has very cool taste.
My wife and I love the book. Thanks!
